Book Giveaway: The Dragon’s Tooth by ND Wilson

Book Giveaway Christian Fantasy

In The Dragon’s Tooth, author ND Wilson blends fantasy seamlessly with reality. Although some stock fantasy elements appear, he’s created a unique story with vivid and compelling characters–heroes and villains alike (as Kessie mentioned in Friday’s discussion). Actually, her reference reminded me how much I enjoyed the book, and in preparation for the upcoming release of the sequel, I thought I’d offer a giveaway. It’s a young adult novel, but the story offers something of interest for all ages. Read on for more information.

Book description (back cover copy)

For two years, Cyrus and Antigone Smith have run an sagging roadside motel with their older brother, Daniel. Nothing ever seems to happen. Then a strange old man with bone tattoos arrives, demanding a specific room.

Less than 24 hours later, the old man is dead. The motel has burned, and Daniel is missing. And Cyrus and Antigone are kneeling in a crowded hall, swearing an oath to an order of explorers who have long served as caretakers of the world’s secrets, keepers of powerful relics from lost civilizations, and jailers to unkillable criminals who have terrorized the world for millennia.

Sample of the first page

North of Mexico, south of Canada, and not too far west of the freshwater sea called lake Michigan, in a place where cows polka-dot hills and men are serious about cheese, there is a lady on a pole.

The Lady is an archer, pale and posing twenty feet in the air above a potholed parking lot. Her frozen bow is drawn with an arrow ready to fly, and her long, muscular legs glint in the late-afternoon sun. Behind her, dark clouds jostle on the horizon, and she quivers slightly in the warm breeze pushed ahead of the coming storm…

(As an aside, this is one of the best book trailers I’ve seen.)

Very awesome book. It is like an Indiana Jones version of Hogworts. My 9 year old daughter loved it too. Although it would be nice to have my own copy (I had borrowed it from a friend when I read it), I hope other people enter the drawing so hopefully someone who has not read it will get the pleasure.

I just finished his 100 Cupboards series and loved it! I am looking forward to reading this next series, though I was considering waiting until all the books are out. I hate waiting a year between exciting books! 🙂

Very, very excited about what Wilson is up to. Writing stories that are deeply Christian, but also just plain great stories (a combo one doesn’t find all too often these days). Can’t wait to read “Dragon’s Tooth.”

I love everything N.D. Wilson does! Loved Leepike Ridge and the 100 cupboards series as well as Notes from a Tilt-a-Wheel. I have yet to get my hands on this book, but would love a copy of it. It’s so nice to have so many biblically grounded fiction/adventure stories to be able to share with my boys when they get a little bit older. I can’t wait to read it!

I loved the 100 Cupboards series! I know the Ashtown Burials series will be just as wonderful! I’d love to win a copy of the first book!

I’ve heard a ton of good stuff about Wilson but have only read stuff from his father. I’d love to have a chance to read some of his stuff.

I’ve enjoyed N. D. Wilson’s Notes from the Tilt-a-whirl as well as a few of his father’s books. I’d love to read some of the younger Wilson’s fiction.

I actually had someone else recommend this book to me a while back, and I’ve looked around for it a bit but haven’t been able to find it yet. I’m glad to hear another positive review of it.

Oooh, I hadn’t heard of this book before today. (I read the first two 100 Cupboards books which were pretty brilliant though bk2 scared me a bit. XD) I’d love to win a copy! 🙂 Thanks for hosting this giveaway.
